Why did you decide to start writing fiction? I’ve been writing on and off since I was 12 years old and we had moved to an all-white neighborhood. A sabbatical would be a great idea right about now! What inspired you to get this degree? I needed a job! I knew that my MFA would not be enough because I did not have publication credits at that time.ĭo you love teaching?
